Vita

Ioannis Kourtis is a research assistant (PhD candidate) at the Department of Languages, Literature and Culture of the Black Sea Countries of the Democritus University of Thrace since 2020. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts and Communication with specialization in Multimedia Design (2009-2013) at the Cyprus University of Technology and his Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies for Education (2016-2019) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, graduating with honors. During his studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate level he received scholarships from the Greek State and from the Japanese Organization Sylff (Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund). During his studies he did an internship at the Cyprus Interaction Lab. Since then, he has worked at a TV station as a graphic designer and editor, at the NGO for unaccompanied minors Arsis as an art teacher and carer of unaccompanied minors and now he works as a teacher of graphic design and art history at the private educational group AKMI. He is also a research associate at the University of Salzburg.
