Aging is a complex biological process shaped by changes across many interconnected cellular systems. Our research aims to understand the molecular and genetic mechanisms that allow cells to maintain homeostasis, adapt to stress, and preserve their function over time.
Using yeast and mammalian cell models, we investigate how cellular stress responses, organelle function, metabolism, and quality-control mechanisms interact during aging. By combining genetics, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, and advanced microscopy, we aim to uncover the fundamental processes that determine cellular fitness and longevity.
