Our Offers for Schools, University Teaching, and Nature Enthusiasts

Whether it’s extracurricular learning environments, hands-on environmental education, or practice-oriented research – our programs connect science, nature, and schools.

As a working group in biology education (Fachdidaktik Biologie), we provide the following services for students, teachers, and pupils:

Grüne Schule Guided tours for school classes, children, and youth groups in the Botanical Garden of the University of Salzburg convey botanical and ecological topics using real plants and recreated habitats.

Schulbiologiezentrum (SBZ) The SBZ offers practice-oriented training and continuing education for biology and environmental education teachers, including workshops, guided tours, and animal loans with accompanying teaching materials.

Schulbiologischer Lehrgarten A 900 m² area within the Botanical Garden demonstrating how schools can use outdoor spaces as school gardens, featuring elements such as a herb spiral, orchard meadow, and insect hotel.
