Starting your studies – how to enroll
If you are interested in our Department of Geoinformatics and would like to enrol, you need to contact the Department of Studies at the University of Salzburg (Kapitelgasse 4 – 6, 5020 Salzburg). There, all first-time registrations for a degree programme (no matter which degree programme) or further registrations are handled.
If you follow this link, you will find further explanations and instructions as well as the possibility to contact them. Furthermore, necessary documents you need to bring with you in order to enrol at the university will be explained to you. In addition, you will receive a student ID card specially issued to you during your studies. This will be important to complete exams or to borrow books from the respective subject libraries. Important dates and deadlines.

About Lectures
If you have registered for your study in the Department of studies, you can log in to PlusOnline with your login informations. There you can register for the courses during your studies. This is possible only via the PlusOnline portal under the name “My courses”, “My studies” or “Course directory”. Select your current semester and a list will appear in which you can choose from the specified lectures (VO), seminars (SE), proseminars(PS), exercises(UE), etc. that you want / need to visit. With a click on the lecture name, you will find more detailed information such as in which language the course will be held in and the time and room number in which the course will take place. The ECTS points that you can achieve can also be viewed. You will gain ECTS when you finish the lectures with a positive grade. Please note the maximum number of students who can register for the course, especially for seminars, proseminars and exercises. There are also deadlines for registration, which you should pay attention to. Not every course can be offered every semester.
Generally, it is possible at any time to deregister yourself from a course, especially when it is a “VO” but this does not count for exercises and seminars. Please note the deadline within you can still unsubscribe yourself.
The team of the Department of studies will be happy to explain all this information to you again. So do not hesitate to contact them if you have any further questions.
Scholarships
Of course, Paris Lodron University also offers the opportunity to gain experience abroad and to complete part of your studies abroad. Scholarships are available for this purpose. Subsidies such as travel costs or board can be claimed here. For more information, please see the link.
Exams
For exams that you have to complete within your studies, you can register via Plus Online with your access data. For each exam you have a choice of 3 dates, from which you can select one and register. You can still deregister 48 hours before an exam (This may vary, so you should check via PLUS Online to be sure). If you do not show up for an examination without having deregistered, you will be blocked from taking the next examination. Please make sure that you register or deregister for an examination in good time.
If you have registered for an examination, you can find more information about the examination in the window that appears (written/oral, room and time, max. possible registrations, etc.).
