Erasmus +

Since Austria’s accession to the EU in the mid-1990s, university partnerships have also been systematically expanded in Europe; the network currently comprises around 240 universities and over 470 cooperation agreements. This provides students and academics at the University of Salzburg with a wide range of opportunities for a short or longer-term stay abroad. The University of Salzburg is also characterised as an attractive study and research destination for students and academics from European and international partner universities. In 2013, the University of Salzburg was voted the most popular and attractive university in Austria by Erasmus students; throughout Europe, the university is one of the ten most popular universities for Erasmus students.

Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP)

Partner universities at departmental level in Switzerland are also included in the above-mentioned Erasmus+/SEMP place list. SEMP is the Swiss-European Mobility Programme – the Swiss alternative to the Erasmus+ programme. Within this programme, the Swiss universities support their incoming and outgoing mobility (students/staff) themselves. The decision on funding via SEMP is made by the Swiss universities – based on their budgets. Therefore, please contact the Swiss partner university for information on possible funding. Mobility is organised by the national agency  Movetia.
