 Programme StructureStudents begin their studies at Stockholm University with a joint
semester (30 ECTS credits) designed to provide a broad
understanding of climate, environment, and energy.
By integrating insights from the natural sciences, social sciences,
and humanities, they will learn to analyse complex systems,
explore transdisciplinary perspectives, and develop methods
for generating new knowledge.

After the first semester, students can specialize in semesters 2
and 3 by choosing one of several study tracks offered by
CIVIS universities (two semesters, equivalent to 60 ECTS credits).

The study tracks including the University of Salzburg are:
· Study Track 1: Environmental Humanities and Law
in contribution with the University of Bucharest, UB and
· Study Track 8: Transdisciplinary Approaches to Climate
Change together with Université libre de Bruxelles,
ULB
During the fourth semester, students undertake
a master’s thesis at the university within their chosen
study track that best aligns with their interests.
This thesis project (30 ECTS credits) aims to apply newly
acquired skills in a real-world context.

Throughout the entire program, a transdisciplinary course
stream provides continuous support for students in
developing their own projects, serving as a hub for
collaboration and knowledge exchange.

University of Bucharest or Université libre de Bruxelles according
to selected Study Track and accompanied by

Admission Requirements
and Curriculum
The Programme is open to students with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
in any discipline. This sets the entry requirements for Study Tracks
including the University of Salzburg. The entry requirements
for other Study Tracks are discipline specific. Selection of students
is done on central level as establishes within
TRACEE Consortium Agreement.
