Public International Law / Erasmus-Students

The lecture Public International Law consists of two parts. Public International Law I deals with the basics of International Law. Public International Law II is an advanced course in International Law engaging with a number of selected topics. Details of the courses can also be found in the course descriptions in PlusOnline. Erasmus students have the opportunity to take the diploma exam (PIL I and PIL II). There are 3 exam dates for each semester. The dates for winter semester are January, February, April; the dates for summer semester are June, September, November; When planning the exam, please take into account your length of stay at the University of Salzburg. Participation in the written exam is compulsory.

Please note:

You cannot split the exam and do the exam in two parts at two different dates.

There are just the two following options:

  • The entire exam (PIL I and PIL II)

If you need the complete exam (PIL I and PIL II) for the recognition at your home university you have to do the exam on one of the offered exam dates like all students. You have to register regularly for the exam date on PlusOnline or the Examination Office during the given registration week.

  • Partial exam (PIL I or PIL II)

If you need just a partial exam (PIl I or PIL II) for your home university, you have to inform us (Department of International Law) in time for the Examination date. This information to our department is not the registration for the exam. You have to register regularly for one of the offered exam dates on PlusOnline or the Examination Office. At this exam date you will do just the necessary part.

If you take only one part of the examination, it is no longer possible to take the second part on another date.
