Dogmatics

In dogmatics, a scientific understanding of the Christian faith takes place, which is proclaimed in the biblical scriptures and the ecclesiastical creeds, unfolded with the tradition of doctrine and located in the respective time. Dogmatics serves a language of faith that respects the signs of the times and corresponds to a “magisterium of a primarily pastoral character” (Pope John XXIII).

The subject has the task of dealing with topics from the entire field of dogmatics, taking appropriate account of the history of theology and dogma. In particular, the following should be mentioned: the systematics of theology; theological epistemology / places and principles of theology; doctrine of God and the Trinity; Christology; pneumatology; Creationism; Theological Anthropology; Doctrine of grace and eschatology, general doctrine of the sacraments.
