Applied Environmental- and Geosciences
PLANNED START: WINTER SEMESTER 2026
The new interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in Applied Environmental and Geoscience at the University of Salzburg will provide a ground basis in subjects such as geomorphology, hydrogeology, climate-geology, ecology, structural geology, sedimentology and environmental law and administration. This degree prepares students for a career in industry as competent professionals, or is the first step in a three-tier study system, leading to Master’s and Doctoral degrees. Both the six-semester bachelor degree (BSc) and four-semester master degree (MSc) are both taught in German and evidence of proficiency in the German language (Level B2 or higher) is required .
The Bachelor’s Programme in Geology comprises six full-time semesters and 180 ECTS-Credits. Graduates receive the title “Bachelor of Science”, or “BSc” for short.
