Research foci and research projects

The Department of Educational Science, School Research and School Practice conducts research on a wider range of topics relating to school and teaching research, teacher training and professionalisation. Central fields of research are:

  • emotions and (self-determined) motivation of pupils, student teachers and teachers,
  • social processes in schools, universities and teacher training programme (e.g the teacher-student relationship),
  • teacher self-efficacy,
  • learning and development in practical school studies,
  • school development and
  • general didactics.

In all of these research approaches, we are ultimately concerned with the question of how personality development can succeed in school and university teaching and learning environments and to what extent this can be best supported by the design of specific teaching and learning environments.
