German as a foreign language

Course information

In German as a Foreign Language we offer courses at 10 different levels: 4 courses for basic users (Grundstufe), 4 courses for independent users (Aufbaustufe) and 2 courses for advanced users (Oberstufe). The courses for basic, independent and advanced users (Grundstufe, Aufbaustufe and Oberstufe) comprise of 3 hours a week plus one hour tutorial, an equivalent of 4.5 ECTS-credits.

Course requirements

Min. 80% attendance, active participation, oral and written contributions, assignments, written tests, oral exam.

Language for specific purposes

In addition, the Language Centre offers the following courses for specific purposes:

  • Academic German: Oral Skills (in the winter semester)
  • Acdemic German: Written Skills (in the summer semester)
  • Culture and Language: Austria and more (in the winter semester)
  • German as a Foreign Language: Writing and Grammar (B1/B2) (in the summer semester)
