Project partner and schools involved

Through the optional subject “University Mathematics”, which is established at the  HTL Braunau, the cooperation with the students of the partner schools is organized. In the past Ao. Univ. Prof. Mag. Dr. Wolfgang Schmid has been holding the optional course “Introduction to University Mathematics” successfully and has re-orientated the course in the sense of the project. The cooperation with the students is conducted rather easily due to Ao. Univ. Prof. Mag. Dr. Wolfgang Schmid’s extensive experience in pedagogics. The school type HTL, especially the HTL Braunau, is particularly suited as partner school, for their students have profound programming skills and are highly interested in technical mathematics. As the project progresses, other school types will be contacted as well, with the intention to establish a similar optional course. The aim of the optional course at the HTL Braunau is to provide a basic theoretical knowledge in mathematical algorithmics of technical mathematics and discrete mathematics to work together with researches on current research questions and problems.
The concept of the optional subject “University Mathematics” will be applied to the second partner school, the  HTL Saalfelden during the project as well.
