Research
Research at the centre focuses at the institutional and democratic perspectives after the Treaty of Lisbon. It takes into account legal developments regarding a balance between market competition and social cohesion but also tackles with socio-economic developments of the Single Market and within the Monetary Union. It thereby also touches upon critical questions concerning social transformation as a result of demographic and technological developments. Research at SCEUS is organised within five thematic areas. The different projects of these areas aim at analysing the European Union, but also a changing political, economic and legal background in the Member States. Different disciplinary, theoretical and methodological approaches enter into a discussion for a better understanding of transformations of the legal-political and socio-economic model.
