Quality over Quantity

The PLUS sees itself as a close-knit university. All university locations can be reached on foot or by bike in just a few minutes. Our interactions also represent this motive – with just over 18.000 students, the PLUS offers an ideal networking space. Be it professors, staff, or students – communication plays a major part in the PLUS everyday surroundings. High-level research groups and an extensive study offer are just the finishing touch to our study programs.

Experience History first hand

The name of our University, Paris Lodron, plays on the foundation of the university by Prince-Archbishop Paris Lodron in 1622. In those days, the university was built and taught by a cooperative of Benedictine monasteries, who were known for their attentive and respectful character. This mindset is still present at the PLUS. Since the reconstruction and opening in 1962, the University of Salzburg has developed to being a modern and lively university.

Oldtown University – New Town Architecture

Many of the institutes and faculties of the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg are situated at the oldtown in historical buildings. On the other hand, the modern campus buildings include the Faculty for Natural and Life Sciences and the Unipark Nonntal. The university buildings even reach the outskirts of Salzburg with locations in Itzling and Rif. All rooms are equipped with modern devices and teaching is enhanced by virtual learning platforms to ensure flexible and sustainable teaching and studying.
