Interlibrary Loan

If you need a book that the University Library of Salzburg does not have in its collection, you can order it via interlibrary loan from other academic libraries in Austria and abroad. It is also possible to order copies of essays or articles via interlibrary loan.

 

Costs

Interlibrary loans are subject to a fee. The costs charged depend on where the order is placed and what is ordered (book/copies).

Cost overview:

  • Books that can be obtained in Austria: €4
  • Books that must be obtained from abroad: €15
  • Copies* that can be obtained in Austria: €7
  • Copies* that must be obtained from abroad: €7

* Amounts apply to 1-20 pages; additional copies are charged according to actual costs (€0.25 per additional page).


 

Ordering

  • Please first check in UBsearch whether the work is available on site.
  • When ordering articles, please first check whether the journal or the volume in question is available in the EZB.
  • If the work you are looking for is not available, please log in to UBsearch and then click on the “Interlibrary loan” button in the top menu.
  • Fill out the form as completely as possible (fields marked with * are mandatory).

 

Delivery time

  • Most of the literature ordered is delivered within 1-2 weeks.
  • In some cases, however, the delivery time may be shorter or significantly longer.
  • As soon as the interlibrary loan arrives, you will be notified immediately by email.

 

Borrowing and returning interlibrary loans

Interlibrary loans can be borrowed and returned at the lending desk of the main library (Hofstallgasse 2-4, 5020 Salzburg).


 

Borrowing conditions and loan period

  • The borrowing conditions and loan period are determined by the lending library and therefore vary.
  • The loan period is usually 4 weeks.
  • To extend the loan period beyond this, you must send an email to in good time.
  • It is possible that the lending library will only allow use of the items within the premises (reading rooms) of the University Library of Salzburg.
