What will I learn?
The BA degree course in Philosophy, Politics and Economics sets out from the observation that the pressing issues of our society – such as globalization, climate change or inequality – more and more need interdisciplinary approaches and perspectives. The degree course in PPE accounts for this demand by not merely leaving the disciplines involved – philosophy, political science and economics – standing next to each other. Rather, they interlock in an interdisciplinary programme. The focus lies on imparting methodological competences. Thereby, students gain a comprehensive qualification which allows them to approach problems fundamentally and analytically.

What makes Salzburg so special as a place to study?
The BA degree course in Philosophy, Politics and Economics is the first and, up to now, only BA degree course of its kind in Austria. The disciplines involved are optimally networked in the international research landscape, enjoy an excellent reputation and succeeded in establishing the University of Salzburg as a first-class address in the international world of science. An excellent student-to-staff ratio and the personal atmosphere in the departments distinguish Salzburg from the large-scale universities in great cities. This guarantees a modern education on the interfaces of questions relevant for society.
