I’ve always enjoyed being in nature, especially water has always drawn me in – whether it’s swimming, cold water plunges or kayaking, I find myself happiest outdoors near rivers and lakes. Spending time in these environments naturally led me to wonder how they function and how human activity affects them.
My research allows me to combine this curiosity with my passion for the outdoors, focusing on understanding and preserving freshwater habitats. As part of the doc.funds AlpsChange program, I investigate invertebrate communities in alpine springs and their responses to environmental change. Bridging biology and hydrogeology, this work aims for a better understanding of these seemingly isolated ecosystems and how they react to shifting conditions in mountain environments.
