Between space, power, and everyday life – social geography perspectives in podcast format | A limited podcast series from the Department of Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Salzburg

How does space shape social conflicts—and how does society shape space? Three podcast episodes produced by students are dedicated to key topics in social geography, approaching them through research, storytelling, and critical reflection. Listeners can expect multifaceted discussions on the contested field of housing, questions of climate justice and regional responsibility, and spatially anchored experiences of insecurity and fear.

The podcasts were created as part of an exercise on “Regional Geographies” led by Christian Smigiel and Holger Faby, Department of Sociology and Social Geography at the University of Salzburg. They impressively demonstrate how scientific thinking can be made audible and comprehensible in podcast format – analytically sound, methodologically sensitive, and with a clear focus on social relevance.

Available on  Spotify,  Apple Podcasts,  Amazon Music, or  letscast.fm, among others.
