Erasmus+ Short-term Mobility Program (Maynooth University, March 19-25 2025)
Dear sociology students,
At very short notice, we at the Sociology Department (especially BA students) have the opportunity to take part in a BIP at our partner university in Ireland (Maynooth).

Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) are a new format of the Erasmus+ program and offer students the opportunity to participate in jointly designed courses from several universities. This involves a combination of a virtual course with a short physical attendance phase. The face-to-face phase will take place in Ireland from March 19 to 25. The thematic focus is on the analysis of memory cultures / memory politics. You would receive 5-6 ECTS points for the face-to-face and online phases. Attached you will find more information based on a PPT presentation.
In addition to exciting lectures and courses, there will also be numerous excursions on site. You will participate in the program in a group with Irish (Maynooth University Dublin) and German students (Duisburg-Essen).
The program is particularly aimed at BA students, who are welcome to apply for the program! Participating BIP students who travel to Ireland for the physical presence phase can apply for an Erasmus scholarship. As far as we know, you will receive €79 per day and a travel allowance. In this respect, your stay would be (almost) entirely financed by Erasmus.
If you are interested in the stays, please send a short e-mail to Prof. Wolfgang Aschauer by January 21, 2025. The deadline is very short, but we must then take the necessary bureaucratic steps as quickly as possible. We are delighted to be able to provide this great short-term study abroad opportunity for our students and look forward to receiving your applications!
