Diverse professional fields, concrete tips for applications and career entry and confidence for career prospects – at the first Career Day of the Department of Sociology and Human Geography, students were able to gain valuable insights and enter into direct exchange with graduates – from large companies, NGOs to consulting and administration, from project management to HR, from research to equal opportunities officers.

The practical and inspiring reports from successful alumni and students in internships and the input from the Career Service of the University of Salzburg on its range of services were very practical. In an open and stimulating atmosphere, it became clear how diverse the career opportunities are after studying at the faculty. The guests answered students’ questions, talked about the challenges of starting a career and shared valuable tips for the transition from university to the world of work as well as little-known but very beneficial skills from studying sociology and social geography for their careers.
