University of Salzburg Association for Humanitarian Action: Donations for a good cause

The bazaar is organised by H.A.U.S. (University of Salzburg Association for Humanitarian Action). This association was founded in 1995 following a tragic event. It serves charitable purposes. The association is independent and non-partisan. Its activities are not profit-oriented. All proceeds from the bazaar will go towards the association’s humanitarian work. The book fair, with its huge selection of books, records, CDs, DVDs and videos, is and always has been a great way to support colleagues at the University of Salzburg.

The association’s constitution sets out the following objectives and tasks:

• to provide support to members of staff and students at the University of Salzburg in cases of particular need.
• to support humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the Senate, individual faculties, departments or members of staff, as well as the student body at the University of Salzburg.
• H.A.U.S. steps in when no one else can help: it provides financial bridging support, as well as non-financial assistance offered on a voluntary basis by H.A.U.S. volunteers in the form of counselling sessions, suggesting alternatives in critical situations, or putting people in touch with relevant experts.

All volunteers and staff at H.A.U.S. work on a voluntary basis. Any costs incurred are covered either by the association’s members personally or by sponsors. All funds raised through donations and other means (with the exception of bank charges) are allocated in full to the association’s humanitarian causes.
