In the upcoming semester, the Language Centre of the University of Salzburg once again invites all those interested in languages to expand their language competences. Courses are available in a total of 12 languages.

In addition to courses that focus on general language competences, the programme also includes a variety of courses with a specific focus:

• German and English for academic purposes
• Business English
• For learners of German: “German as a foreign language: Writing and grammar B1/B2”

Additional services for individual language learning

The Language Centre also offers a wide range of additional services that enable participants to organise their language learning process according to their needs:

• Self-study materials and videos in the Language Centre’s media library
• Language learning partnerships (tandem)
• Language Meetups that take place several times per semester
• Multilingual online language cafés, which we organise in cooperation with the Språkstudion at Stockholm University as part of CIVIS
• Language advising, which is integrated into the course “Language learning: diverse and individual”

Registration for the courses takes place in two phases:

Registration period 1: 09–12 February 2026
For: staff (University of Salzburg and Mozarteum University), Alumni Club members, external participants and MORE students (refugees and displaced persons)

Registration period 2: 16 February–13 March 2026
For: students (University of Salzburg and Mozarteum University). Staff, MORE students, external participants, and Alumni Club members may also continue to register during this period.

• You need an appointment to register for a language course.
• Appointments for registration can only be made ONLINE on this page of the Language Centre website.
• From Wednesday, 4 February 2026, 08:30, appointments for staff (University Salzburg and Mozarteum), MORE students, Alumni Club members and external participants can be made online.
• Please note that registering for an appointment does not constitute registration for a language course.
• Please allow sufficient time for consultation and registration.
• Registration by telephone or e-mail is not possible.
