For the winter semester 2025/26 or the academic year 2025/26, the Department of Sociology and Human Geography is seeking to fill a student assistant position:

Duration: from 01.10.2025 to 31.01.2026 or from 01.10.2025 to 31.07.2026
Scope of employment: minimum 10, maximum 20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Primarily supporting research and administration, but also supporting teaching
Location: the Division of Sociology (Rudolfskai 42) or the Division of Human Geography (Hellbrunnerstraße 34)
Requirements: an active (Bachelor’s or Master’s) degree program in the department
Salary: € 1,299.60 gross per month plus aliquot special payment (for 20 hours per week)
Insurance: full insurance
Employment: employment contract in accordance with the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz)

Additional employment as a research assistant in a research project at the University of Salzburg is generally possible. However, the activities together may only comprise a total of 20 hours per week; applicants with a completed master’s or diploma degree in a relevant subject cannot be considered.
