Involuntary childlessness affects around one in six people worldwide and remains one of the major challenges of modern medicine. Despite significant advances in reproductive medicine, the successful implantation of an embryo into the uterus continues to be one of the greatest obstacles on the path to pregnancy.

Application deadline: 31 October 2026 | Applications for the CIVIS Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) for summer semester 2027 are now open to regular students at the University of Salzburg. BIPs combine online coursework with a short physical mobility abroad — a distinctive format for students seeking international academic experience without committing to a full semester exchange. For summer semester 2027, the CIVIS Alliance is offering around 45 BIPs hosted by CIVIS member universities.

24 September to 8 December 2026 | Online: The CIVIS partner universities once again invite participants to join online language cafés for Romance, Slavic and Nordic languages. These free events promote plurilingualism, intercultural exchange and the practical use of language skills in an international environment. The language cafés are organised by Språkstudion at Stockholm University and the Language Centre of the University of Salzburg within the framework of the CIVIS University Alliance. The Romance Language Café is additionally organised in cooperation with the University of Thessaly.
