From September 28-29, 2023, the Department of Economics at Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) hosted the annual meeting of the Nationalökonomische Gesellschaft for the first time in Salzburg. The NOeG is the largest association of Austrian economists and about 150 participants accepted the invitation to present and discuss their latest research in Salzburg. The conference also featured two keynotes, one by Maximilian Kasy (Oxford University) on “Economics & Machine Learning” and the other by Claudia Steinwender on  “Industrial Policy during the Great Divergence”.
