“Stadt, Land, Wohnen” made audible – three-part podcast series expands conference at the University of Salzburg – listen now!
Following the conference „Stadt, Land, Wohnen“ (November 5–6, 2025), the Department of Sociology & Human Geography is publishing a three-part podcast series as part of the well-known podcast format SICHTBAR HÖRBAR. This SONDERBAR, conceived and moderated by Holger Faby, is intended as an auditory conference diary that brings science, politics, and practice into a dialogical exchange.
The first episode, entitled „ SICHTBAR HÖRBAR: SONDERBAR! – Stadt, Land, Wohnen ohne Großstadtfilter“ is now online. In it, Robert Musil and Christian Smigiel talk about vacancy rates, short-term rentals, tourism pressure, and the often overlooked importance of small and medium-sized cities in housing policy debates – unvarnished, critical, and with audible commitment.
In episode two (to be released at the end of December), Salzburg’s deputy mayor Kai-Michael Dankl meets Christina Lenart (neunerhaus/neunerimmo, Vienna) – with a focus on municipal housing policy, non-profit organizations, and new instruments for dealing with housing shortages.
The third episode will follow in January 2026, bringing impressions and voices directly from the conference: discussed, classified, and further developed in a moderated format.
The SONDERBAR podcast series creates space for new perspectives on the topic of housing – regionally differentiated, interdisciplinary, and accessible.
