TRACEE Kick-off Event in Salzburg
From 25 to 27 March, as part of International Week 2026, the University of Salzburg invited students and staff to the local TRACEE kick-off event to officially mark the launch of the CIVIS Joint Master’s Programme in Transdisciplinary Studies of Climate, Environment and Energy at a local level.
The event kicked off on Wednesday 25 March with a full-day excursion in the province of Salzburg. Students from the University of Salzburg and the CIVIS partner university, the Université Libre de Bruxelles, accompanied by their lecturers, gained initial insights into the subject matter and explored regional examples of relevant climate, environmental and energy issues.
On Thursday, participants deepened their knowledge in small-group, study-related workshops. These provided a space for exchange, discussion and engagement with specific aspects of the new Master’s programme.
To conclude the three-day kick-off, Prof. Michaela Rückl, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Students at the University of Salzburg, welcomed attendees on Friday morning to a celebratory closing event. Interested students, academics and non-academic staff at the University of Salzburg were invited to learn more about the development of TRACEE: in short individual presentations, various phases of the development were highlighted and questions regarding the origins and current implementation of the Joint Master’s programme were addressed.
