Was Kostet Heimat? | Wohnbaudoku Salzburg (German)

Salzburg, one of Austria’s best-known and culturally richest cities, is attracting more and more people as a place to live, which is driving up prices even further. The 30-minute documentary “Was kostet Heimat? (What does home cost?)” (Director: Paul Rosenstatter) examines the causes and effects of rapidly rising housing prices on the Salzburg housing market. Experts from various fields − including Dr. Christian Smigiel (Division of Human Geography) − provide in-depth explanations of price developments and shed light on the economic and political factors behind them. In addition, young adults who are directly affected by price developments openly report on their personal experiences and challenges in dealing with the housing situation.
