This year’s Welcome Day for the department took place on 9 October. As every year at the beginning of the winter semester, the event offered new students the opportunity to get to know the department, its main areas of focus and its premises.

After a short introductory round, a scavenger hunt began, with various stations awaiting the students with different tasks (e.g., finding a book in the library). The event concluded with an informal get-together in HS 387 with catering, which provided an opportunity for personal exchange between first-year students, members of the department, and the  student representatives (STV). A special highlight was the award ceremony: three groups that completed the scavenger hunt particularly quickly and successfully were delighted to receive prize packages containing books and vouchers.
