What will I learn?
In the MSc degree course in Informatics, students gain further competences in the field of informatics and its areas of application. On the basis of scientific findings, the obligatory modules impart state-of-the-art methods and techniques in important core areas. Students can choose to specialize in either formal subjects (e.g., higher mathematics, theoretical informatics) or subjects focused on practical experience (e.g., data bases, software techniques, software systems). Modules of application (e.g., geoinformatics, bioinformatics, information law, multimedia, image processing, data analysis, geometric computing) and optional modules allow students to specialize according to their individual interests.

Graduates of the MSc degree course in Informatics are able to develop innovative solutions for the creation, application and development of complex systems. They have a critical awareness of the applications and effects of various technologies. This qualifies them to fill responsible leading positions in practically all areas of IT and its applications. Furthermore, the scientific basis of the MSc course is a solid foundation for further research activities (e.g., in form of a PhD degree course).
