What will I learn?

The teacher training programme for the subject of Greek focuses on ancient Greek literature. Along with the acquisition of fundamental grammatical competences, teacher training students will learn to impart these texts linguistically and to interpret them in their cultural context. Thereby, graduates will be able to inspire their pupils’ interest in historical communication and guide them towards the self-contemplation of their own situation. Almost all of the literary genres have been created in classical antiquity (epic, drama, historiography, poetry, dialogue): in Greek lessons at school, pupils will learn the basics of genre poetics within the field of literary communication and ponder the fundamental questions of human existence.

Which career opportunities do I have?

Occupations for graduates include library work, publishing, and art and cultural mediation. Graduates are qualified to teach the subject Greek at secondary schools after graduating in the MA teacher training programme.
