As part of the performance agreements, our department develops and implements targeted measures to strengthen employee engagement and foster identification with the University of Salzburg as an attractive employer. Key areas of focus include the design and delivery of internal projects, campaigns and communication initiatives, as well as the continuous enhancement of employee onboarding, recruitment and offboarding processes.

These activities are carried out in close collaboration with the Human Resources Department and the Staff Development Unit, including through participation in the Employer Branding Working Group.

In addition, we provide advice and support to organisational units across the University and create audience-focused content for the Intranet and website, helping to strengthen the University of Salzburg’s employer brand in a visible, consistent and sustainable manner.

If you are planning an event at the University of Salzburg, we offer advice and support to organisational units throughout the planning and delivery process. Our services encompass both event consultancy and communications support, from defining the event concept and identifying target audiences to developing an effective communication strategy.

In cooperation with the Staff Development Unit, we also offer workshops and lectures on a range of relevant topics.

Since 2022, the Department of University Communications has organised the University’s annual Summer Festival for approximately 1,000 staff members of the University of Salzburg.

The event takes place each year on the day before Corpus Christi at the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, providing an opportunity for colleagues to connect and enjoy live music and culinary highlights in a relaxed setting.

The Rectorate of the University of Salzburg invites long-serving members of staff and retired colleagues to its annual Long-Service and Retirement Celebration. The event provides a festive occasion to reflect on shared achievements, honour longstanding commitment, and celebrate significant milestones within the University community.
