E-Lang Citizen network

From 2-3 March 2022, an international networking meeting took place within the framework of the project “E-Lang Citizen – Digital citizenship through language education”. As a new member of the E-Lang Citizen network, the Language Centre is involved in the creation of real-world tasks for use in foreign language teaching.

The project

The project “E-Lang Citizen – Digital citizenship through language education” (project duration 2020-2022) aims to contribute to the promotion of digital competencies and digital citizenship of language learners by developing a didactic framework but also concrete materials that can be used in foreign language teaching. The project follows a socio-interactional approach and encourages the use of real-world tasks. These real-world tasks should enable learners to use their language(s) in an authentic way in (online) contexts in order to develop their language skills, but also their digital skills. In addition, the project aims to promote learner motivation, plurilingualism and interculturality. The creative and playful use of language (gamification) also play an important role.
