methods

We use X-ray crystallography to study the structure and function of proteins.  In addition to a fully equipped in-house crystallisation laboratory (crystallisation robotics, high-brilliance X-ray source and detector, computer graphics), we employ a broad panel of biochemical and biophysical state-of-the-art techniques for protein expression, purification and analysis as well as their functional characterisation, e.g. enzyme kinetics and binding studies.  Techniques involved include bacterial and eukaryotic expression systems; chromatography; calorimetry; dynamic light scattering and several spectroscopic techniques among others.
