Research happens here

The University of Salzburg has a wide range of subjects and research areas that are both basic and applied research-oriented. Around 2000 academic staff contribute with their individual research achievements at the six faculties and 34 departments and to the image of the university. The aim of the university is to further sharpen its profile and set accents with its internationally recognized research areas. The university currently has three focal areas and eleven centers for cutting-edge research. They have a clear thematic focus that justifies their interdisciplinary composition and are internationally networked and committed.
