The Night of Research (LNF – Lange Nacht der Forschung) is Austria’s largest event dedicated to science, research, and innovation, welcoming visitors of all ages. Held every two years across the country, the event opens the doors to cutting-edge discoveries and groundbreaking technologies in all nine Austrian provinces for one inspiring evening.

Since 2005, the Long Night of Research has aimed to make science and research accessible to everyone through free admission and engaging, easy-to-understand, and entertaining presentations. With more than 3,000 program activities, including guided tours, workshops, lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on experiments, the event offers something for everyone, from science professionals and aspiring researchers to adventurous minds, curious explorers, creative thinkers, problem-solvers, inventors, tinkerers, and discoverers of all ages, as well as anyone eager to learn more about how the world works.
