Vice-Rector Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Elias Felten
Elias Felten (married, two children) has been a university professor of labour law and commercial law at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg since 2022 and has been the Vice Rector for Human Resources since October 2024. He studied law and ancient intellectual, literary and reception history at the PLUS and the University of Bologna. He qualified as a professor in 2015 and was then appointed a professor at the Johannes Kepler University Linz two years later. He was head of the institute there until his move to Salzburg.
Elias Felten researches Austrian collective agreement law, company charter law and European social security law. He provides his expertise to the European Commission as an independent legal expert in the MoveS research network, which focuses on legal issues relating to the free movement of workers and European social law coordination. He is also a member of the scientific advisory board of the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich, co-editor of the renowned Austrian specialist journal ‘Das Recht der Arbeit’ and a board member of the Austrian Society for Labour Law and Social Law.
He regularly publishes in national and international journals, is co-editor of the Austrian Social Security Law System, lectures in Austria and abroad and advises practitioners on labour and social law issues.
