Friderike Zweig Grant – Top-up to support disadvantaged groups to study abroad inclusively

Type of grant:

Paris Lodron University Salzburg now offers additional funding in the form of top ups for students with fewer opportunities. Specifically, the following target groups are included:

  • Students with child(ren).

Students with child(ren) can also complete stays abroad as part of their studies through university partnerships or the ISEP program.
In addition to the traditional grants, they can apply for a mobility grant from University of Salzburg (PLUS) funds, the amount of which depends on the country and can be obtained from the International Relations Office.

  • Students caring for relatives

Students who receive care allowance for the care of relatives, who are on care leave or who are the adult representative of a person or have a power of attorney for health care can apply for an additional foreign allowance.

  • Students with (among other things, psychosocial) disabilities or chronic illnesses.

The University of Salzburg (PLUS) is guided by the social or human rights model of disability. Students with disabilities can apply for financial assistance to cover additional costs incurred by their stay abroad.

Documents to apply for the grant:

1. Application form

2. official confirmations such as the disability passport, but also specialist medical/therapeutic/expert/professional confirmations are considered as proof. Confirmations from general practitioners cannot be accepted.
The assessment of the documents is carried out in cooperation with the Family, Gender, Disability & Diversity Department (FGDD).
