17th of December, 2019: Kristjan served as reviewer in the mid-term evaluation of the project POLYTHEA (project coordinator Prof. Stephanie Lhez) and was very much impressed by the progress and quality of the PhD theses carried out in frame of the project. Also, the maturity, passion and scientific knowledge of the students is outstanding. Thank you, Stephanie, for the invitation and to Aurore and Rene for the perfect organization of the event.
25th of November, 2019: Stephanie Lhez and Kristjan have successfully set up an ERASMUS agreement between the Universities of Salzburg and Limoges. In case you are interested in teaching or studying in Limoges please contact Kristjan.
8th of November, 2019: Michael successfully defended his PhD thesis. Congratulations and very warm welcome as Postdoctoral Researcher in our lab!

30th of August, 2019: 2019 ESP-IUPB World Congress Light and Life in Barcelona! Congratulations to the president of the ESP, Prof. Santi Nonell, to the perfect organization of this amazing event. Christoph and Michael displayed their posters and received excellent feedback to their work. Kristjan organized a symposium on „Environmental Antimicrobial PDT“. Thanks for all the outstanding presentations on an exceptional high scientific level! Kristjan also presented on our recent results on fighting plant pathogens by PDI.
25th of April, 2019: Congratulations, Fabienne, to the perfect organization ot the
4th GTU Photodynamic Day and thank you for the invitation. Kristjan presented on Photodynamic Inactivation based on chlorin e6 derivatives against plant pathogens.
20th of September, 2018: In The Blue Land: Conference
Photodynamic Therapy and Photodiagnosis Update 2018 in Kochel am See, Germany. Kristjans presentation on application of the photodynamic approach against phytopathogens was very well received. Very special thanks to Prof. Santi Nonell for the kind invitation to present.
13th of September, 2018: Christoph finalized his Master thesis and passed the final exam with outstanding success. Congratulations! We are very happy that Christoph will continue his exciting work as PhD student in our team.
4th of July, 2018: Reza Ghiladi and Kristjan organized a symposium on Antimicrobial PDT at the
10th International Conference on Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines (ICPP-10) in Munich, Germany. We thank all contributors to the symposium, who made it a full success. Kristjan presented on „New horizons in crop protection: Photodynamic Inactivation against plant pathogens“.
3rd of July, 2018: On top of Germany! Santi Nonell, Bettina and Kristjan had a great excursion to Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany (2962 m). Thank you again for the great day, Santi, filled with amazing views and inspiring scientific discussions.

21st of June, 2018: PDI-PLUS goes Italy! Martina, Michael, Christoph and Markus presented their scientific work at the
SIFB-ALPE ADRIA Meeting on Photobiology in Udine. Their participation was supported by travel grants from the Società Italiana di Fotobiologia (SIFB). We thank Prof. Valentina Rapozzi for the very generous scholarships. Kristjan gave an invited talk. The Book of Abstracts can be downloaded

8th of September, 2017: Michael and Kristjan were very excited to present at the
17th Congress of the European Society for Photobiology. Michaels poster on Photodynamic Inactivation of plant pathogens was well received. Together with Prof. Adelaide Almeida, Kristjan organized a symposium on Environmental antimicrobial PDT. Thanks for the outstanding speakers to make this symposium a scientific success!

9th of June, 2017: Back to amazing Portugal! The symposium on
Antimicrobial Photodynamic Inactivation organized by Prof. Yingying Huang and Kristjan at the
16th International Photodynamic Association World Congress at the
University of Coimbra was very well visited and received. We express our sincere thanks to the outstanding experts for presenting their inspiring scientific work in the symposium and to the conference chair Prof. Luis Arnaut for his kind and generous invitation.
25th of May, 2017: Today we received a honorable award for Michael! He was granted a fellowship to attend the
European Society for Photobiology Congress, in Pisa, 4-8 September 2017. We congratulate Michael and thank Professor Lesley Rhodes, Chair of the ESP Education & Training Committee, for her generous support.

29th of February, 2016: Nicole successfully defended her PhD thesis and earned the title „Dr. rer. nat.“. She gave an excellent presentation and demonstrated her outstanding expert knowledge on PDI. Well done, Niki!

19th of October, 2015: We were very honored to welcome Professor Uygar H. Tazebay from
Gebze Techical University at our lab PDI-PLUS. Professor Tazebay gave a well-received presentation with the title „Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 124 (Ccdc124) is a centrosome and midbody protein involved in cytokinetic abscission“. Thank you for your visit, the interesting talk and the fruitful and inspiring discussion!

1st of July, 2015: Armin Fluch again published an excellent newspaper article in „Der Standard“. He discusses our work on Photodynamic Decontamination of foodstuff with other very promising approaches of our partners, namely Cold Plasma (PD Dr. Tim Maisch, University Hospital Regensburg) and Light Pulse Technology (DDI Victoria Heinrich, OFI). 22nd of June, 2015: Barbara received a travel grant from the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences for the 16th Congress of the European Society for Photobiology, Aveiro, Portugal. She will be able to present a poster there. Congratulations!
