The University Logo (Wordmark and Symbol)
Here you will find important information on the University of Salzburg’s logo (wordmark and symbol). This includes guidance on logo usage and placement, dos and don’ts, as well as instructions for the use of the logo in collaborative and partnership projects.
Please note: The University logo must not be altered, modified or supplemented in any way. The elements of the logo may not be separated and used independently of one another. The only exception applies to the University’s social media channels, where the circular lion emblem is used on its own as a profile image.
Independent Logos (Internal Secondary Logos)
- As a general rule, University units are not permitted to develop or use their own logos (internal secondary logos). This applies to all wordmarks and combined word-and-symbol marks.
- Exceptions may only be granted with the explicit approval of the Rectorate.
- The use of secondary logos is generally not permitted for faculties, University centres, departments, research projects of any kind, degree programmes or teaching initiatives.
Internal secondary logos, that is, logos created by individual University units, have been replaced by sub-logos (the University’s official logo combined with a faculty, department or project designation).
