Welcome Weeks for First-Year Students

Before the start of the winter semester, we warmly welcome all first-year students to the Welcome Weeks. During this period, new students gain a comprehensive introduction to studying and student life in Salzburg. Participants can look forward to a varied programme featuring practical information for the start of their studies, engaging events designed to introduce them to the University, as well as a wide range of services and support opportunities. Additional activities help ease the transition into university life and provide opportunities to make first connections with fellow students.

Start Your Studies Well Informed: Online Programme

During the first days of the Welcome Weeks, a number of online information sessions are offered. These provide concise and essential information about degree programmes, administrative procedures and the University’s support services. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for the start of their studies from the comfort of their own home and to have any outstanding questions answered. Participation is free of charge and recommended for all new students.

Explore and Connect

Students are also invited to discover the key locations relevant to their studies, become familiar with the city of Salzburg and its many opportunities, and establish their first connections with fellow students. A range of shared activities creates opportunities to meet others, exchange experiences, ask questions and become part of the University community. In this way, the transition to university life is not only informative but also enriched by many new encounters.

Information about the next Welcome Weeks will be published on this page in due course.
