Image Library

The Department of University Communications provides a comprehensive selection of images for media representatives and University staff. These images may be used provided that the relevant copyright holder is appropriately credited.

Our photo pool includes a wide range of subject-specific images, as well as photographs of the University’s campuses and facilities, and portraits of University representatives, including members of the Rectorate of the University of Salzburg.

University staff can find guidance on the correct attribution of image copyrights in the University’s guidelines on crediting copyright holders. In addition, the names of photographers and further image information are generally included in the metadata of each image.

Please note that the following attribution format also applies to media use:

1. Photo:
2. © symbol
3. Copyright holder (full name of the photographer or company/brand name)

Example: Photo: © University of Salzburg (or, for example, Erika Musterfrau)

The Department of University Communications also provides University staff with  general information on the use of image material on behalf of the University of Salzburg (available via the Intranet; in German).

When using images, please also observe the University’s guidance on image requirements (available via the Intranet only).
