There are various possibilities for students in Salzburg to receive financial support for psychotherapeutic treatments.

On the one hand, there is the “Mental Health Fund” of the ÖH Salzburg, which can reimburse 50% of the costs of psychotherapy to be borne by the student (up to 500 euros or 12 sessions).
Further information can be found  here.

On the other hand, “economically disadvantaged” people who are insured with ÖKG or BVAEB and live in Salzburg can submit an application through the ARGE Psychotherapie. If this application is approved, the costs of psychotherapy can be covered in full.
Further information from the ARGE Psychotherapie can be found  here.
“Economically disadvantaged” means that the criteria for prescription fee exemption are met.
Information on the prescription fee exemption can be found  here (p.2: “Requirements for exemption by application” and “How is net income calculated?”)

For students from Germany with an existing health insurance in Germany (e.g. AOK), in most cases the full cost of treatment will be covered by the German health insurance via a reimbursement procedure (paid invoices are submitted to the health insurance company and the costs are then reimbursed by the health insurance company).
