There are currently ten centres at the University of Salzburg.

As a regional competence centre, the ÖIM stands for the scientifically based dissemination of human rights.

The ZEA is dedicated to the research of poverty and social exclusion, in particular in relation to questions of ethics and philosophy.

The centre research aspects of Jewish history, culture, literature and religion.

Centre for Research of the Christian East
ZECO
The Centre is dedicated to researching the Christian East and ecumenical relations with the Eastern Churches.

Interdisciplinary Centre for the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period
IZMF
An interfaculty, interdisciplinary institution merging research activities with teaching on the Middle Ages and Early Modern Period.
