Lucy Kinski is a political scientist with a focus on parliamentary representation and responsiveness in the multilevel European Union. She investigates transnational linkages between national parliaments and within the European Parliament as well as the representation of women and young people in the EU.

She has studied at the Hertie School in Berlin, the Utrecht School of Economics and the Graduate Institute in Geneva. She received her PhD from the University of Vienna, and was a researcher in the PACE project on national parliamentary communication of EU affairs at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. During her PhD, she was visiting researcher at the European University Institute in Florence.

Since April 2021, she is a Post Doc in European Union Politics at the University of Salzburg, Salzburg Center of European Union Studies (SCEUS). Before joining the University of Salzburg, she has worked as a senior researcher at the Chair of Comparative Politics at the University of Düsseldorf. Before her PhD, she has also been a policy advisor in the European division of the German Federal Chancellery.

Lucy Kinski is the Principal Investigator of the project Breaking with economic orthodoxy? Framing the transformation of EU economic governance in parliaments during crises funded by an Advance Grant of the Kaiserschild foundation. She is the author of the book  European Representation in EU National Parliaments and has published in high-ranking journals such as Environmental Politics, European Union Politics, Journal of European Integration, Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of Common Market Studies, Political Studies and Politics and Governance. Since April 2021, she is book review editor of the Austrian Journal of Political Science. She teaches introductory and advanced BA and MA level courses on European Union politics, representation and research methodology.
