Michael Blauberger is Professor for Politics of the European Union since October 2019. He has been teaching and researching at the University of Salzburg since 2011 – as an assistant professor (2011-2015) and, after his Habilitation thesis on ‘Europeanization through law’, as an associate professor (2015-2019). He studied Political Science, Public International Law and Economics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and University of Paris I (1999-2004). He wrote his doctoral thesis on European state aid control at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, Cologne, and the University of Bremen (2005-2008). He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Collaborative Research Centre ‘Transformations of the State’ in Bremen (2008-2010), Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (2010-2011) and Visiting Professor at the Center for European Studies of Rutgers University (09-12/2014). His  publications appeared in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of European Public Policy, West European Politics, Regulation & Governance, Research & Politics, Politische Vierteljahresschrift, Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen. Michael Blauberger is editorial board member of the Journal of European Public Policy, where he edits the  research agenda and  debate sections. In his current research, as part of a transnational project, he investigates EU migrants’ access to social benefits in the EU and the social rebalancing of the enlarged internal market (RESiM).
