Graduation ceremonies

Graduations should be celebrated properly! Anyone wishing to do so has the opportunity to take part in a special ceremony in the university’s grand assembly hall, the Große Universitätsaula.

  • General Information

    • The completion of a degree programme is officially certified by the legally binding Degree Award Certificate („Verleihungsbescheid über den akademischen Grad“), which is issued by the relevant examinations office. Participation in a graduation or doctoral award ceremony is an additional service offered by the University of Salzburg and is not equivalent to the formal completion of a degree programme.
    • Registration for the ceremony is only possible via the  online registration form.
    • Registration is only possible once your degree completion has been recorded in PLUSonline and the Degree Award Certificate has been issued by the responsible examinations office.
    • Due to high demand, we recommend logging in and registering as soon as registration opens. For organisational reasons, places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
    • Admission to the ceremony is confirmed only after payment has been received. Please book your travel and accommodation only after your registration has been successfully completed.

  • Dates

    Dates for upcoming celebrations are added here on an ongoing basis.

    Due to the high demand, we recommend that you log in as soon as possible after the start of registration in order to secure your place for the ceremony. For organisational reasons, there is a limited number of places available. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a waiting list.

    Your participation is only binding after receipt of the confirmation of registration and payment of the participation fee. Please do not book your travel and accommodation until you have registered.       Afternoon Ceremony, 3 p.m.

      Afternoon ceremony, 3 pm
      Registration is via the  online registration form.

      Registration for the morning ceremony (starting at 11 am) will be opened additionally if there is sufficient demand, once the waiting list for the afternoon session has reached a sufficient number of registrations.

      Afternoon ceremony, 3 pm
      Registration is via the  online registration form.
