Abstract
This dissertation examines how members of the PostOst community articulate digital family memories on social media and what forms and practices of remembrance emerge in the process. It analyzes the extent to which these practices facilitate processes of empowerment and how they contribute to the social negotiation of memory and history. Methodologically, the study combines qualitative content analysis with guided interviews and situates the findings within the field of communication studies research on memory.
