Languages for specific purposes

In addition to our “classical” language courses, we would also like to draw your attention to our language courses with a specific focus. The requirements in these courses are based on the specific course programme. They will be announced in the first course unit.

Special courses in the winter semester

German and English courses in the field of academic language will be offered for all students, aspiring scientists or anyone interested: The aim of these courses is to teach study-specific skills (“Academic literacy across the curriculum”), which enable the participants to (linguistically) master the demands of everyday university life. In addition, in the winter semester we offer a German course focused on Culture and Language (Culture and Language: Austria and more), as well as a course in Business English and “Business English: conversational skills”. In addition, the course “Learn Romance languages through networking” is designed for learners who already have a good command of one Romance language and want to develop skills in additional Romance languages simultaneously, building on their existing knowledge. Furthermore, for anyone who would like to expand their language skills independently and learn how to plan and reflect on their own learning process, we offer the course “Learning advice for all languages”.
