Language levels

The online self‑assessment tool developed by the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) helps you evaluate your language skills independently. Based on the descriptors of the  Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), you can reflect on your competences in the different language skills. The integrated checklists support you in gaining a realistic overview of your current language level and provide helpful guidance when choosing a course.

An overview of the CEFR proficiency levels (A1–C2) can be found here:

Choosing a course which is appropriate for your level is very important, therefore, we have placement tests for our language courses or you have the option of a free consultation. These are offered at the Language Centre before registration.
